Teams + Tech Solutions + Mentorship

Are you a developer, innovator, student, organization, or you just have a brilliant idea? Then you are invited to compete locally with other teams in the rest of the world for the $25,000 USD first place prize, $15,000 USD second place prize, and $10,000 USD third place prize in addition to other consolation prizes.

 


This year's Community Challenge is focused on building software applications that use at least one of these three featured technologies: React360, Spark AR, and/or HTML5 Games. Your software must also fit into one of these three categories: Gaming and Entertainment, Productivity and Utility, or Social Good.

 


 Join in on one of the 70+ Build Days happening worldwide as there would be special regional prizes to be awarded at the official end of challenge.

Alhassan Adinan

Alhassan Adinan is a full-stack engineer and the Lead Game Developer of LetiArts, an interactive digital studio that creates Afrocentric mobile games and comics.

He joined LetiArts as a Junior game developer in 2017 and has since climbed the ladder to become the lead game developer of the company. Since Joining LetiArts, Adinan has led the development of many successful projects including MTN Hottseat, an interactive quiz game which challenges player through questions from various topics and is the first ever exclusive telcos mobile app game from MTN Ghana.

He consulted on award winning projects including Amatsii, consumer search & product discovery, procurement and analytics technology solutions for the pharmaceutical industry that won MTN Apps challenge

He has mentored a lot of upcoming developers and is an advocate in training more people to enter the tech space. He has on many platforms sensitized students to choose the digital industry as a career path. In 2015 and 2016, he spoke to the Computer Science and IT students on the importance of choosing the tech space as a career path. He has since then been leading the LetiArts internship program in the programming division which has trained over 300 interns so far since 2012.


Kevin de Youngster,

Hi there! I’m Kevin de Youngster, currently studying Computer Science year at Ashesi University. I work as a Frontend developer at Chalkboard Education and make games during my free time.

I’ve been building games since 2016 when I started organizing game development hackathons at Ashesi. One of those successful releases is Tagetti (available on the Play Store) with which I won the CrazyGames Scholarship / Competition.

One of my raisons d’être is to help people build awesome stuff, and I look forward to doing so with you guys over the weekend.

Faiza Adam

Faiza Adam is a women in Tech Advocate and a lover of creative arts. She hold a degree in Bsc Information Technology and a certificate on Project Management. She’s the founder of GirlyTech which aims to encourage and motivate young minds to leverage technology as a creative tool and feel confident in using computer and media related tools with focus on different aspect of technology and how it can turn out to providing solutions to their community. Her vision is to create a world where girls have a life long passion and confidence in their use of technology tools throughout their careers. She is currently undertaking her national service at Data Protection Commission as a Data Security officer and a Digital Marketer


Paul Ziem

An iIndie Game Dev/tech consultant with a passion of aggregating the nerd and gaming ecosystem. He founded Founder of GameNerd Community, NerdCon Accra, Global Game Jam Accra for game developers like himself to network, learn and build gaming products as well partake in gaming competitions. Currently, this passionate nerd is a Products lead & community Manager at LetiArts.

Mike Perry Yeboah Attara

A teacher by training and a passionate software developer. He believes in sharing knowledge as a way of better understanding the craft of programming.
He is currently building user-facing features at Complete Farmer Ltd.
